Looking For Donkeys and Finding a Prophet (1 Samuel 9) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 79

Israel was called to be a unique nation of Priests, but they wanted to be just like the other nations, with a king like the other nations. So Yahweh obliges, but not without spelling out the self-inflicted consequences of their choice.  And we are now introduced to Israel’s first monarch—the antithesis of the wisdom and leadership of their rejected prophet and judge, Samuel.
