Saul Does Not Follow Directions Very Well (1 Samuel 13) - Faith and Other Oddities Episode 84
Saul is finally stepping into his role as a king and doing what the people have hoped a king would do - fight the Philistines. But first we have to stop and look at some translations issues because otherwise we have a one year old as king of Israel! And he has a grown son, Jonathan who is introduced in this chapter. We discuss why Saul had to be deposed as king and look at some economic control exercised in this ancient culture.
